Unseen Secrets: How It Was Born

What does the world look like when you go smaller?

This series began with a microscope image—the tentacle of a baby octopus, magnified beyond what the naked eye could hold. What I saw stopped me completely, not because it was strange, but because it was breathtaking.

Nature builds the most extraordinary structures in places it never expects to be seen: organisms that drift, pulse, curl, and glow in darkness; geometries so precise they feel intentional; beauty with no audience—until now.

"Unseen Secrets" is my attempt to give that hidden world a voice. Each piece begins with a scientific image and ends somewhere entirely its own, where science becomes emotion and the microscopic becomes monumental.

About the artwork

My brother asked me to paint him something full of life and colors. He's colorblind — yellow is the one he sees clearest, the one that's his. So I didn't paint this in my palette. I tried to paint it in his — building the color up around yellow, so what reaches him is vivid, not just symbolic.

It took longer than almost anything I've made. Not because of the anatomy. Because getting it right meant really knowing him.

For my brother 💛
